At Northern Arizona University you’ll find equal amounts of challenge and support in our classrooms. You’ll also find faculty who take the time to mentor their students. Because we know the success of a college education is measured by the success after college.
It seems like something that should go without saying, but our faculty are here to teach. They are just as passionate about the give-and-take in their classrooms as they are about their research.
By the time they graduate, the vast majority of our students have had some faculty-led learning experience outside the classroom. Whether it’s a study-abroad trip, an internship, or a research project (sometimes as early as freshman year), we offer a variety of ways to connect what our students learn in the classroom to what they’ll be taking on in their careers.
With nearly 100 majors—there really is opportunity in every direction.
Ninety-six percent of our first-year students receive some form of financial aid. That’s a number we’re proud to share because it means that more students are getting the chance to live their full potential.
We guarantee the same tuition rate for four years. Which means undergraduate students on our Flagstaff campus can have the stability they’ll need to plan their financial future. They can focus on their education without worrying about tuition increases. Our pledge also includes a freeze on your meal plan rate for two years! It’s just one way we work to make opportunity accessible.
That’s the best way to describe our campus culture. Even though they’re working on some big life-shaping challenges, our students always find time for a friendly chat or the occasional outdoor adventure.
More than 90 percent of our first-year students choose to live on campus. They come from all over the country, and together they form an incredibly active community that loves to explore the natural beauty all around them. Download our brochure to get a sense of the students who live here.
